RCORP-ETC Meeting: Opioid Use Disorder and the Health of Women and Children

Please register for our upcoming RCORP-ETC meeting on, “Opioid Use Disorder and the Health of Women and Children” scheduled for Friday, April 22, 2022, 1-3 pm ET via Zoom. Opioids have now impacted generations. Together we will review the accomplishments and ongoing challenges related to health promotion in light of opioid use disorder.

Laurie Meschke, PhD at UTK, Kyle Cook, NNP, from East TN Children’s Hospital, Melinda McCartt, PhD from Oneida Special School District, Dr. Bandyopadhyay from TennCare, and Dr. Loyd from Cedar Recovery will speak on or lead discussions about an overview of OUD, women’s reproductive health, and Neonatal Opioid Withdrawal Syndrome (NOWS) in East Tennessee; treatment and care for NOWS; long term effects for children with prenatal opioid exposure or past treatment for NOWS; children’s social-emotional development, services and resources for families with children with prenatal opioid exposure; reproductive health for women and OUD with a focus on contraception and bilateral tubal ligation; treatment and barriers for pregnant women with SUD.
